Notice of the Church Consecration

Beloved Brethren,

We take great pleasure in announcing that by the Grace of God the blessed day of the Consecration of our Parish Church of St Nektarios has arrived. The Service of Consecration will take place over the weekend of Saturday 19 August and Sunday 20 August 2000.

His Eminence Archbishop Stylianos of Australia will preside over the services, assisted by His Grace Bishop Joseph of Arianzos, commencing with Vespers on Saturday evening at 6pm and at the Divine Liturgy on Sunday from 8am to 12 noon. Concluding the celebrations there will be a luncheon at Alexander the Great, Homer St, Dianella.

The service of the consecration of a Church building is rich in blessings and is a unique occurrence in our lives. For this reason you are invited to join the whole congregation of the faithful on this holy and great day, which only ever occurs once .

We invite and encourage you to take part with the gift of your love for this Holy event by providing a list of the names of your family members on a small piece of paper. During the service these will be placed by His Eminence within the Holy Altar of the Church together with the Holy Relics of the Saints. By supporting such an important event in this way, the members of your household will be privileged and blessed.

We therefore await with great pleasure the participation of your family in the Consecration of our Church, dedicated to our beloved Saint Nektarios, Bishop of Pentapolis and Great Miracle-Worker.
