By the Grace of God, the Ecumenical Patriarch and Archbishop of Constantinople, His All-Holiness Bartholomeos I, served the first Patriarchal Liturgy in Australia on November 9, 1996. This historic event occurred in Perth, Western Australia at the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese Parish of St. Nektarios. To make this occasion of even greater importance to the Faithful in Perth, the Patriarchal Liturgy coincided with the Feast of St. Nektarios, the Patron Saint of the Parish.
